Software Testing & Quality Assurance

We plan what to test, automate the regression checks that should run on every change, and prepare UAT so business users accept a system against criteria agreed before the build. We also test systems other vendors delivered.

Software testing and QA means deciding what has to be tested, automating checks for the paths that must not break, and preparing user acceptance testing (UAT) against criteria agreed in advance. It applies to new builds and to systems already in production.

It suits organisations that still depend on a manual regression pass before each release, and buyers who want an independent test of a vendor's delivery before they sign acceptance.

Is this the right fit?

The situations this work is built for, and what you get at the end of it.

You may need this if

  • Releases rely on a manual check

Someone clicks through the system by hand before each release, and the check shrinks when deadlines tighten.

  • Fixed bugs come back

A fixed defect reappears after an unrelated change, because no test was added with the fix.

  • UAT turns into a scope argument

Business users first see the system at acceptance, with no test scripts or prepared data.

  • A vendor delivery needs checking

You want an independent test of a system another vendor built before you sign acceptance.

What we deliver

  • Test strategy

A written plan of what to test and how deeply, starting where a failure would cost most.

  • Functional and integration testing

Test cases for each feature and for flows that cross systems, such as an order reaching the ERP.

  • Automated regression tests

Tests for the paths that must not break, running in the deploy pipeline on every change.

  • UAT preparation and support

Scenarios, test data and acceptance criteria agreed with business users beforehand, then support and defect triage during testing.

  • Performance testing

Load tests at current and expected future volumes, showing where response times start to slip.

How we work

Every engagement runs through the same six-stage fitting process, from the first consultation to long-term care. The stages stay in the same order; how deep each one goes depends on the project.

How we decide what to test

We start by listing the paths where a failure is expensive, such as payments, approvals and anything that posts to finance, plus the code that changes most often. Those get automated tests first. Screens that rarely change and carry little risk can stay with a short manual check.

The tests run in the deploy pipeline on every change, and a failing test stops the build. When we fix a defect, we add a test that would have caught it. We report coverage against the list of important paths and do not chase a single coverage percentage, which is easy to raise with tests that check very little.

For UAT, acceptance criteria are written against the requirements or the TOR before the build starts. Before each release you get a short summary of what was tested, what failed and what is still open, with our recommendation on whether to release.

Frequently asked questions

How much does software testing cost?

It depends on the applications and integrations in scope, the number of user roles and workflows, the environments involved, and whether you need a one-off review, an automated regression suite or ongoing QA. We send a written estimate after a short scoping call. Public-sector work is estimated against the TOR.

Can you test a system another vendor built?

Yes. We design test cases against the requirements or the TOR, run them and give you a defect report you can use in the acceptance discussion with the vendor. The early part is slower while we learn a system we did not write, and the estimate includes that time.

Our team already does QA. What would you add?

Usually a different split of the same effort: repetitive manual regression checks moved into automated tests, and acceptance criteria written before the build instead of during UAT. Sometimes the review shows your QA works well and the delays come from elsewhere, such as unclear requirements, and the report says so.

How do you handle UAT for a government project?

We agree acceptance criteria against the TOR before the build, then design UAT scenarios and test data around them. During the sessions we support the agency's testers and track each defect to closure. Because the criteria were fixed in advance, acceptance checks what the TOR asked for without reopening scope.

Do you do performance testing?

Yes. We run load tests at current volumes and at the volumes you expect over the next few years. The report shows where response times start to slip and which part causes it: the database, an integration or the application code.
