AI Use Cases

Document Intelligence

Extracting structured data, such as amounts, dates and parties, from invoices, forms and contracts, so it can enter a system without manual typing. Uncertain fields go to a person to check.

Part of Cloud, Data & AI

Document intelligence reads documents and extracts specific fields as structured data: amounts and dates from invoices, parties and terms from contracts, values from scanned forms. It combines OCR for scanned pages with models that find and label each field.

Why it suits automation

The work is high in volume and repetitive, each decision is small, and there is a natural review step for uncertain results. Manual typing is also where transcription errors enter systems unnoticed, so accuracy can improve once a review path is in place.

What decides the effort

The variety of layouts matters more than the number of documents. A hundred thousand invoices in three known layouts is a manageable problem. A thousand documents in two hundred layouts, including phone photos of paper, is a much harder one, so we ask for real samples before estimating.

How we design it

  • Fields below a confidence threshold go to a person for review.
  • Each extracted record keeps a link to its source document, so any value can be checked.
  • Accuracy is measured field by field on a representative set of real documents.
  • Retention is decided up front, since these documents often contain personal data covered by the PDPA.
